Obituary from Jeter Funeral Home

Carolyn Jean Armstrong

In Loving Memory

Carolyn Jean Armstrong

7/26/1951 - 7/10/2019

Carolyn Jean Armstrong, 67, of Friendswood, TX went to meet her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 10, 2019. She was born on July 26, 1951 in Houston, TX to Artie W. Armstrong and Virginia P. Richardson Armstrong.

Carolyn lived most of her life in Houston and Friendswood. She graduated from Spring Branch High School in 1969. After graduation she spent the next few years working for various small companies doing office work. Carolyn then started working at Sercel in manufacturing where she remained until she retired.

She loved to travel and had many adventures before and after she met her beloved wife Pandora Freestone. One of Carolyn’s biggest adventures was traveling around Mexico for 6 months after selling her car to finance the trip. She was the Consummate Hippie!

Carolyn struggled with addiction throughout her life, until she found AA on February 11, 1989; she was clean and sober until her death, celebrating 30 years of sobriety. Carolyn’s sobriety was important to her, so she sponsored others and was active in her home AA group in Alvin until her death.

She was preceded in death by her father (1990); her mother (2012); her brother, Artie William Armstrong, Jr. (1992) and her sister, Virginia (Baby Doll) Armstrong Golden (2015).

Carolyn leaves behind her wife of 28 years, Pandora Freestone; her brother, Richard Armstrong and his wife Madelyn; her sister-in-law, Jennifer Freestone; her father-in-law, Mack Freestone; and as well many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

Carolyn lived her life to the fullest and will be sorely missed.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 5:00 P.M. with the funeral service to follow at 6:00 P.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 (281) 992-7200 with Chaplin Abraham Akelas officiating. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Burton, TX.

Condolences may be sent to the family in care of Jeter Memorial Funeral Home at www.jeterfuneralhome.com.

I am so sadden by this news. Carolyn was my girlfriend in high school. She was such a fun person to be with. We had many good times together making all the school dances together. The twerp dance, the Snow dance and of   course our senior prom. If you can find us in the group senior picture, we’re together and of course she’s flashing the peace symbol. That was Carolyn 😏 !

My condolences to her partner in life and her family.

May God bless and keep her. ❤️

So sorry to hear of Carolyn's passing.  I knew her from elementary school through high school.  She was a very sweet person.

May God be with her family.

Carolyn and I were neighbors on Kimwood. I cannot remember my childhood without thinking about Carolyn and her insatiable curiosity and unbridled determination to explore this world. She seemed fearless of consequences, and I was often in trouble after following her lead! No play dolls for these two. We’d rather climb trees, walk fences, catch crawdads, play with snakes and challenge the boys in the neighborhood in kickball, touch football and bicycling.

May she now rest in God’s embrace.

Carolyn was always so funny and there was never a dull moment in her prescence. She will be forever in our memories.
