I first met Virgil (we all called him Spike) at Cub Scouts when his dad was cubmaster (Pack 732 - we met monthly at the old Dad's Club on Voss and Katy) and then later we stayed with scouting into Troop 732 while his dad stayed our scoutmaster and my dad was an assistant scoutmaster. We had so many good times in scouting, weekend campouts at Strake and Hudson and three classic rainouts at Spring Creek and summer camps at Camp Strake and El Rancho Cima near Wimberley.
