Michael Lee Nees

Michael Lee Nees passed away Monday June 6th, 2016 at Bayshore Medical Center in Pasadena, Texas. Michael was born December 24th, 1950 in Brazil, Indiana. He graduated from Spring Branch Senior High, class of 1969, in Houston Texas, and attended the University of Houston. Michael married his wife, Linda Nees, in 1971 and they enjoyed 44 years of marriage. During their marriage they were blessed with two children, Steven Nees and Sarah Lively. Michael worked as an IT Specialist at Harris Methodist Hospital and Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas for many years, and later became active at the Norman Malone Senior Center in La Porte, Texas. He also was an active member of the Red Suspender Society in La Porte which sponsors a yearly shrimp boil and senior breakfasts benefiting the areas Special Olympics. He recently had a starring role as the hero, Walter Wedge, in the play "Fast Train to the Poorhouse". Michael Nees is survived by his wife Linda Nees, his parents Estyle (Gene) and Phyllis Nees, brother David Nees, Sister Cheryl Nees-Gallagher, children Steven Nees, Sarah Lively and grandchildren Hunter and Sierra Jackson. Michael Nees was a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend. He will be cremated, per his wishes, and the family will have a private memorial in his honor.
