Marilyn was a BSN, and earned a Master's Degree from Carnegie Mellon, She was a Direct Care Nurse, a Psychiatric Nurse, a Psychiatric Nurse Manager and held the highest credentials as a Nursing Care Manager. Among her many loves were: Texas, education, our country, traveling, cooking, friends and, most of all, her family. Marilyn was a rich conversationalist and had strong opinions about many subjects As she lost her voice, conversation became limited. Marilyn was strong, proud, and independent. Very few people knew that she suffered from ALS. That cruel illness that would have stopped a lesser person did not stop her. She took care of herself and her family until the day she was hospitalized.
